Demeter - Etymology
Demeter is the Ancient Greek Goddess of the harvest, of sacred law, and the cycle of life and death. She presides over the fertility of the earth.
Her name consists of two parts: De~ which scholars associate with Earth, and ~meter which is linked with “mother”. She was seen as the good goddess of Mother Earth.
